Emissions Reduction Target
Green Investment Strategies, Inc. commits to reducing the greenhouse gas emissions associated with its operations in alignment with a science-based pathway consistent with limiting global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius above preindustrial levels.
Scope of Target
This target applies to the company’s operational greenhouse gas emissions, including:
- Scope 1 emissions, where applicable, and
- Scope 2 emissions associated with purchased electricity and energy,
as those terms are defined by widely recognized greenhouse gas accounting standards.
Target
Green Investment Strategies, Inc. commits to achieving the following emissionsreduction target:
- Reduce absolute operational greenhouse gas emissions by at least 50 percent by 2030, using a baseline year established through initial emissions measurement, and
- Continue progress toward netzero operational emissions by 2050, consistent with global climate science.
Implementation and Review
The company will:
- Establish a baseline assessment of its operational emissions to support this target.
- Periodically review progress toward emissions reduction as data quality and internal capacity improve.
- Update targets and actions as appropriate to reflect evolving best practices and available information.
This target reflects the company’s intention to take responsibility for its own emissions while continuing to meet its fiduciary obligations and operate as a small professional services firm.
