Dear Friends,
At Green Investment Strategies, Inc. ("Green"), our ethos has always been about doing good while doing well. As a Public Benefit Corporation, we have a legal and moral right to value not just shareholders, but also employees, communities, and the environment. This, then, is our report on what, if any, benefit we provided to the public.
First, a confession: I realize we are closing out 2025, and this report on our 2024 impact is overdue. I sincerely apologize for the delay and vow that next year’s report will be in your hands in January.
Despite the delay in reporting, the results themselves are good. I am proud to announce that our overall score on the B Impact Assessment rose from 169.4 in 2023 to 207.1 in 2024.
Local
Previously, we identified that we needed to improve our local economic impact. We promised to shift our business banking to a local institution to better support our community. We kept that promise. In 2024, our banking services were primarily provided by Penn Community Bank, an independent mutual bank committed to serving the best interests of families and businesses in the greater Philadelphia area.
We also recognized a need to improve our supply chain management. We kept hat promise too, implementing formal screens to evaluate significant suppliers on their social and environmental impact, prioritizing those, like B Balanced CPA, with third-party certifications.
Environmental
We remained committed to being part of the solution to global warming. We improved our Environment score by 26.4%, driven by our focus on renewable energy and resource conservation. Now more than ever, we help our clients invest intelligently in companies that reduce GHG emissions.
Transparency
Finally, we promised to elevate customer engagement by being more transparent about satisfaction. We made progress on this, too, by publicly sharing customer satisfaction, and we plan to do more of this in the future.
Overall, our aim remains the same: to help you maximize returns while maintaining a livable planet on which you and your loved ones can enjoy those returns. Thank you for trusting us with your future.
